Kulttuuripläjäys, osa I - How about some cultural activities? (Part one)

Paris art tells us more about Sandrine Pelletier, and here are some more
photos.

And while we're on the subject, I happened to stumble on an interesting link, should anyone feel the urge of applying for an art school (in French). CEPV

In the end of April I managed to find some time to visit a local art gallery, and it sure was worthwhile. Such a fresh, new and uplifting experience. I had heard of this young Swiss artist Sandrine Pelletier and her trademark - cats - but they weren't quite what I expected. Let's say that there were more gory details that I'd care to see...or maybe I'm just too bashful. Oh, the things I saw there :-D Anyway, I'll spare you the details, except for a couple which were captured in my camera when walking around the Angoraphobia.

Like so many other artists, Pelletier mixes and matches materials and techniques, but at least in this exhibition each and every work of art contained some sort of textiles. Sometimes the artefacts were full of finished details while the strength of other pieces was a certain roughness around the edges. One good example was the way she had left the threads hanging. Had they been cut and hidden, the final effect would have been quite different, and certainly not better.
