More flower pots in this blog. Mine are made of glass mosaics and they're in a desperate need of finishing. However, that involves some brushing which in its turn means tiny irritating particles, so I'd better do it once the weather warms up and I can spend more time on my terrace. I just hope that I can contain myself until that.

Sitten on ollut näitä esittelyjä muistojen langoista. Pistäkääpä paremmaksi..siis vanhemmaksi

Recently there's been quite a lot of walking down the memory lane...in the form of presenting ancient yarns. Now, here's something you don't see every day.

Surprise, surprise! - Ihmeiden aika ei ole ohi!

Oh my word. Strange things keep happening, and in a positive sense. I wasn't going to post anything today but I just can't keep all this inside.

During the weekend I took my bicycle out and realised that it needed some maintenance. The pressure was too low and one of the black caps covering the valve was broken, so it needed to be replaced. I went to the nearest service station, where a man was just checking the tyres of his car. He offered assistance and in fact, he did all the work for me. It just reminds me of being back home in Finland - if you should ever expect a gentlemant to help you there...well, let's just say that it might happen but just be prepared to wait. --Today I went to a hardware store looking for the caps. There weren't any there, neither in Auto5, neither in a huge Carrefour super hyper giant market. But there I struck gold: The guys were just adding stuff to the shelves, but they said that I couldn't buy just some caps. Instead they opened a box which contained bicycle tyres, unscrewed one cap and GAVE it to me. Then they asked whether I needed more than one (and I said no). However, they gave me another one! Good for me, not so good for the person who buys a whole new tyre and gets it without a cap. Hihi. And just for the record: I'm not pretty, I'm not blonde and I did not flirt to achieve those goals, it just happened. So, what better way of celebrating that than taking the bike out for a swing. 15 kilometres in a springtime forest - such a nice experience even though it rained.

Earlier today I started tracing down the bag I lost on Saturday, and BINGO, it was found intact, knitting and all. Can't believe this! I promised to drop by tomorrow, hopefully they won't do anything hasty before that.

Let's enjoy this hype and good news. There was an article in the Sunday Times where they said that knitting is becoming more and more trendy, and one London department store boasts that the sales of wool and knitting needles are up by 35%. (They just don't mention the period of time when that has happened.) Then there was another piece of news where they said that knitting needles will be allowed on planes again. What has happened? Have some planets' and constellations' positions changed for the better?

Me no happy - Nyt nyppii

Not a productive knitting weekend. It could have been but I destroyed it myself: went shopping on Saturday, took an unfinished small poncho to a haberdashery shop in order to find an innovative way to attach it (button? ribbon? something else?). There I still had the poncho, then I lost it somewhere. And went into about one hundred shops before coming back home and realising that the bag was missing, so I'm *really* looking forward to calling them all, asking whether they've seen a small canvas bag or not. Besides, when I was walking home, I stopped on the way and took my bicycle out of the garage which is a few hundred meters from my home. I may have dropped the bag on the street, and if that's the case, I'll never see it again. So, I'm counting my losses as one sunflower-printed canvas bag, 100 grams of interesting yarn and one circular needle. Either I'm getting old or this is someone's way of telling me that I should find another theme - just a few months ago lost my beloved sunflower umbrella. I'm not a happy bunny.

But on a more positive note... this Sunday wasn't too bad. Went to Hasselt , visited the Japanese garden there and while my friend was getting shiatsu treatment, I just sat in the sun, had a cup of coffee and started a new knitting project. Not a bad day at all.

Auringonkukkasateenvarjon hukkaamisesta on vasta muutama kuukausi. Kyllä v...harmittaa.

Tänään sunnuntaina otin sitten vähän vahinkoa takaisin. Käytiin Hasseltin japanilaisessa puutarhassa, missä kirsikankukkien terälehdet olivat jo putoamassa. Kaveri jonotti shiatsuhoitoon, minä taas istuin kahvikupin ääressä ja aloitin uuden neuleen. Ei sittenkään pöllömpi päivä.
Fish, fish, come here, fishy!

Would you go swimming here?

This one was HUGE!
Magnolias

Magnolias... again

Magnolia III
Acer japonica, I guess (haven't checked, though).

Yep, the colours are natural, I haven't enhanced them.
When I grow up, am I going to be a bonsai tree or a strawberry?
Nice
Bonsais presented in a fresh way.
Something fishy
I wasn't trying to be artsy, I just wanted a picture of the stone lamp.
Some fat sheep in a shop window.

Again, totally unrelated... but it looked like it was covered with lace doilies.
