Vieläkin on pystyssä muutama 1600-luvulta peräisin oleva talo. Yhdessä suurimmista rakennuksista toimii nykyään käsityöläiskeskus, joka tosin on viikonloppuisin yllättävän hiljainen. Pitäisi joskus päästä käymään siellä arkipäivisin. Talleissa asuu valtavia belgialaisia työhevosia, joiden avulla harjoitetaan ympäristöystävällistä metsänhoitoa. Ravintolassa tarjotaan luostarioluita, virkistyskalastajat istuvat lammen rannalla ja saattavat joskus heittää pienen saaliskalan vieressä päivystäville haikaroille. Ympärillä levittäytyy luonnonsuojelualue, jossa näkee joskus raidallisia maaoravia. Ne vaan ovat turhan vikkeliä kameralla tähtäiltäviksi.

It was such a lovely weather during the weekend that it would have been a shame not to take somo photos. The autumn colours aren't as vibrant as in my native country, Finland, but if we lose something in colour, I'm sure that the different landscape compensates for the eventual loss. I live quite close to a historical monastery area, situated in a warm, protected valley and where the monks have had a traditional herbal garden, fruit trees, beehives and wine ranks. Some of the houses on the area date back to the 17th century. One of the largest buildings contains an artisanal center which is surprisingly quiet during the weekend - I just wish I could go there on a working day. Then there are stalls with huge Belgian working horses which offer an environmentally healthy option for getting the logs out of the forest. Fishermen are sitting by the ponds, occasionally throwing a couple of their smallest catch to the storks waiting patiently near-by. And the forest surrounding this harmony is protected, of course. You might even spot a lively chipmunk there - a bit too lively to catch on camera. Posted by Hello
